The 700R4 has a 3.06:1 first gear ratio ratio. Not sure about the newer tranny.

Thanos,

The 4L80E is 2.43 in first gear. You definitely want to stick with the 700R4.

How is life in the Navy?

the navy is awesome! Read my project 377tt in the general engine

If i use the 4l80E i can go for a higher stall converter and run smaller splined axles in the back 35 instead of 40's

How about you? Rumor has it neither your nor teal have been to a gen3 meeting

I couldn't get to the last meeting as I was completely beat from installing the heads and cam on the 305. She goes mighty nice now, though!

Teal Shark didn't like the idea of going to Sunridge Mall. Now she doesn't like me, either, for reasons unknown. All in all, a disappointment as a human being

Yeah, your *** is grass the next time the 305 meets your puny L98 ... mwuhahahahah!!!!

Just kidding

I don't know what to make of Teal Shark. Kind of your typical irrational female, I guess. She accused me of "bothering" her when I followed up on her promise to get a hold of me in a couple of days for lunch. It's not the first time she's gone wing-nut wacko over these types of things, so I guess it is good riddance. Too bad, I went WAY out of my way to help her with numerous things for which I am now told I'm a bother. Some gratitude, eh?

I guess that's her problem: nice chassis with no human being inside to match it.

One day I might take the 305 out to Race City. I'm in no hurry. Using the drag race simulation programs it says it will do mid-14s and I'm happy with that.

I'm sure that is an altitude corrected time.

Well, the first thread has several DD2000 simulations posted and as you can see, none of the other cams in the running have any advantage over the Crane PM260. I was quite surprised at how versatile and powerful that little cam is! F-Bird'88 is the guy who recommended it and he seems to know his stuff.

You could do just as nice a port and polish job on a set of heads, Thanos. You just have to take your time and follow the instructions. Iron is hard to overdo, you know? It is so darned hard you really have to be a klutz to actually make a miserable and huge mistake.

Aluminum might be a little different because it is softer, but I still think you would not have any problems.

A good half second off the ET, anyway. Roughly 30 to 35 hp for each mod.
