I assume you are talking about the 3rd accumulator checkvalve which is located in the Servo bore in the case. It is an air bleed for 3rd oil, which is used to release the band on the 1-2 shift. It gives no trouble unless it got a good shot of contamination and is sticking open. Many people block this off. I don't.
