700R4 Needs Computer?

My car has all sensors and the computer removed. I was considering converting my T5 to a 700R4 as I build my motor. Can I use a 700R4 without a computer or does it need the computer to control the shifts?

Computer not needed, the 700r4 isn't computer controlled. You will need some way to lock/unlock the torque converter. Not a problem though, do some searches on the subject, TCI, B&M, and Painless wiring offer a conversion kit or you can make a manual switch.

Thers another option for a functional lockup converter found on early S10's. The S10's used a 2 wire vacuum switch connected to manifold vacuum one hot wire ran from the switch on the brake "brake switch must be 12 ign power" to the vacuum switch then ran down to the "A" termial on the transmission, the other wire on the vacuum switch goes to ground. The part cab be purchased at either a local parts store or the dealer from $10-18.
The switch will lock the converter @ 8in of vacuum+ I just dont have the part number handy.
