T5 or T56

I just finishing my engine, it produces about 420 hp and 415 Pounds of Torque. I would like to change from an auto tranny to 5 or 6 speed. Does anyone know if a T5 or T56 would handel this amount of power? I am also planning on running a shot of NOS about 75 or 100. Any help would be great. Thank You

Car: 1985 Trans Am
Engine: 350
Transmission: T5
Axle/Gears: 3.70
T56 is the way to go if you can afford it. Hard driving will make short work of the T5 with that puch power.

Or you could go with a Tremec 5 spd. But again that's like 2 grand

Car: 1991 Formula
Engine: 350 firebreathing inches of Small Block Chevrolet
Transmission: A 700R4 that has trouble handling the formentioned 350.
If you don't mind a 4 speed and want to be cost effective, use a Borg-Warner T-10 out of a 1982 and previous Camaro. Those trannys and great and can handle that much power easily and can handle very hard driving.
You can find these trannys in junkyard for cheap. The only problem is no Overdrive, 4th is just a straight gear.
Just thought I would bring this suggestion up.
Later, Garrett
