700R4 Price Help
700R4 Price Help
Well i just found out today that my car that i baught does not have the stock 700r4 tranny, it has really a junky 350. I took it to Aamco and they said that theres tons of bolts missing, its leaking oil, its a total mess, he said that the only gears that i have are 1 and 2, that drive doesn't even work. He's supposed to call me back tomarrow about an estimate to put in a 700R4, I want to know what kind of prices i should expect to pay so I know he's not gonna BS. I wanan know what you guys think is the max I should go, and what you think would be a good price. BTW its a stock 305, so a beefed up tranny isn't going in, just a stock one. Thanks.
Once you find out what you don't get for the price, you probably will pay a high price, and not get anything near what I offer. Call me at 800 7763288 M-S 11-7 PST and I will be glad to help?
When I was shopping around for a 700r4, aamco's bottomline price was about 2300 bucks to r&r. After hearing this I bought a Probuilt..
I could of went with a GM tranny, but the price was about the same and I didnt want OEM parts. Instead I opted for the more stout parts that Dana installs.

AAMCO!!!!!!!!! RUN!!!!!!!!! Get your car out of there quick! j/k
Of course unless you like paying too much for a tranny
Which I hope is not the case.
See what aamco says than call the dealer. I guarantee the dealer will be cheaper, and I think everyone will agree that the dealer is the most you would ever want to pay for work on your car.
This might be a project you can tackle yourself. Heck get a raptor 700R4 if your going to pay that much, and find a shop that will do the swap for about $500.00, you than save $300.00 AND you get a built tranny to boot.
Raptor 700R4
Even if you keep your car stock, you will have better throttle response, a more enjoyable ride, and a transmission that will take good care of you.
