Hey guys, last time I had my '89 IROC-Z over at Pep Boys for a new rear-end gasket, I noticed that the diff. cover had 9 bolts. I am interested in getting a new gear set (to get rid of those whimpy 2.77s!) So I was just looking on Summit for a ring and pinion gear set for a GM 9 bolt- they don't have any! All they got is 10 and 12 bolt sets. Now I know I counted 9 bolts so where am I going wrong? If it's just that Summit doesn't carry them, then can someone tell me where I can get a set? You have a 9 bolt and its a rare rear end. Its stronger than a ten bolt. I had one but to get gears will cost u like 455 for kit not including install. Its not worth it my opinion. i ended up get a 9" moser rear. Herse the place to get the 9 bolt stuff. www.diffsolutions.com or 9bolt.com.
