Which manual?

I am considering moving over to a manual. I want a T56 but I know a few guys who drive those other cars that have had good luck with the Tremec 5spds. I wonder if anyone has any thoughts. I am interested in cost vs. strength. I think that maybe the tremec is stronger than the T56. I have a very healthy 383 and use NO2 from time to time. Let me know what ya'll think.

I love my t56, just make sure to get a good clutch/pp setup as the stocker isn't up to the task, let alone nitrous. Also the flimsy cast flywheel looks weak imo compared to the SFI spec'd Centerforce. The only drawback to this flywheel is weight. IT IS HEAVY! which is great for drag racing. An aluminum wheel would be great for RR. I got the McLeod dual friction as it's $150 cheaper than centerforces and havn't had a prob so far. Get a 94 to 97 model as they have a higher rating than the '93. The only gripe is with my torquey 388 and 4.10's there's a lot of gear rowing to do. Usually a 1-3-5 works or if at a slight 'roll' a 2-4-5 shift works.... Drop the hammer and master the shifts at wot and it's a blast to say the least!

Thanks for your input. Next question: Where did you get yours, and how much? Do you need the pedal, master and slave cylinders from the same model and application, or could my stock 92 t5 equipment work? I have heard of some people needing to massage the trans tunnel some in order to gain clearance. Any more knowledge you have would be great.

Your pedals will work, but you need the 4th gen clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder. Also the 4th gen clutch rod will not fit the 3re gen pedal. You have to find a way to make it fit. Good luck.
