Rear end goes out, pls help! =(

Well, I figured my 350 would destroy the T-5 first, but apparently not.

A couple of days ago I noticed whirring on deceleration, dependent upon speed of the car, not RPM. I figured the diff fluid was low, so I changed it up.

The whirring persisted for a half of day, then it turned to grinding, then the occasional clunk. When I mash the gas the throttle is hesitant, like a carb bog almost, and the shifter violently jolts around occasionaly.

The noise is coming from the diff, for sure.

I'm thinking of swapping out rear ends, maybe picking up something with a posi, seeing as how I was magically bestowed with a drum brake, non-posi rear-ended transam.

This thing sounds like it's gonna blow up.

Any ideas as to what happened here?!?!?

THANKS GUYS!
