I'm assuming the regular Dana 44, & not the later 84-96 Manual Vette 44's...
This is right out of the Richmond Catalog for the Dana 44

Don't know about the over all size of the U-joints, but you could compare them at the parts store. Beyond that, go check in with your local drive staft or trannie shop, they might help.

The u-joint you need is a cross over type. The factory u-joint is a Rockwell type and the yoke on the dana 44 is a dana #1310 size.
The U-joint part number i use is made by Precision #355
I hope this helps

1QWIKZ,
What you need is called a 'conversion' u-joint. If you are using the steel driveshaft then these are some choices:
NEAPCO 3-3130 (NEAPCO also has heavy duty line called Brute Force....I believe it is 3-3130BF....)
Precision 372
Dana 5-544
If you are using the aluminum driveshaft then:
Precision 369
Sorry, I dont have any other numbers for use with the aluminum driveshaft. This should at least get you started.
FYI.....the Precision 372 is about $32......at least that is what I paid at Bumper to Bumper. It fits the pinion yoke (Spicer) perfectly.
Hope this helps!
BTW..............where did you manage to find the elusive Dana 44?
Mike

Thank you for the quick replies! I think this will have me all squared away I hope but if I have any questions I'll definitely will be asking you guys again........ Thanks guys!!!!!!!!Oh yea, I actually scored the rear off of ebay about a year ago for 800 but my 10 bolt was still intact and I got it for a back up and ultimately I need to put it in now. lol
Hopefully it holds up better to the holeshots with NOS and slicks compared to the 10 bolt which actually lasted alot longer then I thought it would.

Ok I have another question for you guys. Jerrywho already has answered quite a few of my questions but I have another one lol.
Jerry said that I could get brakes from a 89-92 and they would bolt right but I am having a problem finding them but there is a ton of 87-88 that I can get ahold of. So my question is will they work and what will I have to do to make them work thanks guys!
