Road Racing Posi?
I was waiting for a Auburn Pro from Jegs, and after thinking it over I decided that maybe a high bias would not be the best thing coming out of turn. I called Jegs and changed to a HP Auburn, and added a support cover with the money I saved.
Now, did I make the correct assumption, with going with a lower spring rate to keep the rear from slaping me into a fish tail coming out of turn???

A looser posi will help through a corner, until it heats up and increases the friction enough to bias. But in the case of an Auburn, loose is bad. Forcing cone type differentials tend to wear out and not work all that well over time.
A Torsen would be your best bet for a car that will see left and right turns, as well as 1320 blasts, but they are limited to some applications.....like a GM 7.5, Austrailian 9 bolt and a couple 'F' word diff's.
Using the lighter pre-load Auburn will do just fine, but it wont last as long. An Eaton would be perfect, knowing that they can be rebuilt AND tuned for what/how-ever you drive your car.
Driving sideways isnt all that bad, just turn into it and find the throttle....

Thanks 'chacane67', that's what I thought.
The only reason I went with the Auburn in this situation is because I have a couple of sets of 2 series gears laying around, and one new set of Richmond’s laying in front of me. I liked the Eaton, because it uses replaceable clutches (...and boy, I'm sure you use them road racing!) but no 2 series
We'll see how long this 7.5" holds up. I've done just about every thing right to maximize longevity (solid sleeve, Richmond Gears, Support cover, new bearings & races)
