I am in the process of replacing the clutch in my GTA project car (first clutch job for me). I just pulled the tranny out and there is a tube (thin, white in a black casing) running from the top passenger side of the trans and at the point the trans bolts to the bellhousing it takes a 45 degree turn upwards. There appears to be some sort of cap at the end. It's definately more of a tube than a cable. What is this? Did I miss disconnecting it? What does it connect to (if anything)? I searched around above the bellhousing and can't see anything this tube would connect to. Thanks folks.

I think it's just a vent tube that dosen't connect to anything.

 

That's it, it's the vent, older ones just had a little thing about an inch tall... I guess they wanted it up higher for some reason

 

yup its the vent and the reason for being so hight is to avoid water getting into the transmission.
