I have a gm tranny which I believe to be a 200, I am not sure if it is a 200c or a 200R4. it has the four wire connector on the drivers side of the tail shaft area and has what looks like a TV cable. the pan is square with one corner gone and has "metric" written on it. please help me I.D. this tranny.

if its a 3 spd, its the 200c
if its 4 spd, its the 200-4r

note, if the trans is stock it should be a 700-r4 on your 86. 200c was stopped after 83 and a 3rd gen NEVER got the 200-4r.

how many selector spots does it have if it has six its a three speed and if it has seven its a four speed hope that helps
