Everybody here will agree that a B&M out shifts any shift kit, but theres a POINT!!!
Believe me, you'll be soooo much happier with a Trans-Go, cause it will NOT:
-Make your filling fall out.
-Blast your U-Joints into orbit.
-Break you output shaft, and other mechanicals.
-Cause you to lose control when shifting in a mild turn!
-Cause your McDonald Coffee to spill in your lap, and burn your nuts.

I can't vouch for this, but I've heard that B&M kits are hard on the tranny and that most people prefer to have the Trans-Go. It would be kind of senseless if you decided to go with the B&M for the hard shifts only to have it weaken or brake something in the tranny or elsewhere! I've read this on a few other threads on here. Just my $.02 tho.

TransGO is the way to go, according to most people......

Only regret is that I didn't do this the day after I purchased the car!
Oh, one thing to watch for, when you manually downshift, it downshifts, and the TCC locks up quicker & smoother, and the 1-2 shifts get progressivily firmer as additional throttle is used, and the 2-3 shift is quick & firm, and . . .

Got to hear both sides right?
I am one of the few if not the only one who doesn't like transgo.
I installed the Transgo kit on my perfectly working 700-R4 and it messed it up.
I can no longer start in first gear with more than 1/4 throttle applied. It wont shift from 2nd to third at WOT and it wont downshift from 4th to 3th at WOT.
Manual shifting has become extramly soft from 1st to 2nd, 3 seconds to full engagement.
I have redone the install 4 times and have the same problems, transgo of course is taking no blame for the fault.
If you really want one get a tranny shop to install it that will refund you your money if your trans gets messed up like mine. I'm getting ready to uninstall the shift kit. Stock form was far better.

I just installed a transgo 2/3 kit, with rebuild. It has a really firm 1/2 shift. I had a superior kit in my first trans, lasted 3000 miles. If you're going to be revving more than 5000 rpm, as in drag racing. I'd recomend the transgo 2/3 with rev kit. Call probuilt, he'll lead you in the right direction.

The only problem I have with the TG kit is I have a delayed downshift at any gear by what seems like 2 seconds. Tv cable is set correctly. Other then that no problems.
Have a B&M kit in my car and it makes my cd player skips make the whole drivetrain sound like its gonna come through the floor boards and the rear end snap in two. I no long use more than 1/4 throttle in first because of the reasons i just stated but the rest of the gears are great. After i upgrade the whole rear suspension so i can use first gear the cars gonna fly. And it only cost me 52 bucks.
P.S. It does it all just by putting the car in drive. No manual shifting.
Also revs all the way to 6500 sometimes. Scares the **** out of me.
Specs on car:
91 RS
stock 78 350 4 bolt main
214 degree cam and headers
stock Q-Jet and intake

GO with the Trans -Go....
reason being , Dana of Pro-built(great guy and very knowledgeable), Jimmy from Jimmy's Transmissions(my TTA and Formula are done by him) and i believe Bruce? (of PMAC/Century Transmiisions) are the guys who are responsible for making the 2004r's last behind 9 sec turbo regals and the 700r4's that are living in low 11/10 sec cars all over the country....
these guys are the ones who took the time to design and test the new pieces from hardened stators to new sunshells to make these transmissions last(not too mention TC's call any of them and theirs 2 maybe 3 brands they will deal with)
All 3 of these guys recommend and use Trans Go shift kits in next to all of their applications...they are designed to address shortcomings in the transmissions that existed from the factory and to attain a proper **** at part throttle unlike B&M
Besides it may cost a lil more than the guy down the street to have a trans done by them but when u do u have the full knowledge that not only do these guys build transmissions' they are the ones out there designing the hard parts to further improve them as well
my two and accurate cents
:-)

Just call him up, say 'I want to purchase one of your custom TransGo based re-programming kits.' Dana will ask some questions about the application and send out a kit. Mine was ~ $150US.
The one I installed was in a 100K mile 700R4, stock.

I bought my TransGo shift kit from Dana also, I opted for the HD kit. I lost 3rd & 4th gears a month after the shift kit was installed but that was due to the tranny being on it's last leg (125,000 mi). I had the tranny re-built and everything is just fine now.
