Getting a new clutch on Tuesday (MY SECOND CLUTCH IN 40 DAYS!!!)

I got a new clutch about a month ago. Well, it's already time for a new one. Whoever installed the first one didn't do a good job. But don't ask I need a new one and I have to pay for it.

Anyway, I'm thinking a centerforce clutch. Not putting in the stock **** again. Can somebody give me some advice on exactly what I need to change while the tranny is out? I don't trust those mechanics.... I wanna tell them EXACTLY what to do.

For one thing....do it yourself. If you don't trust those mechanics, then drop the trans and put in the clutch yourself.

And...if the clutch lasted you this long...I don't think the reason it blew was because it wasn't installed right (if that were the case...it probably wouldn't even move - you can't really have a clutch that isn't installed properly, there isn't an in between usually, it is either installed or its not), were you shifting properly? Did you burn the clutch ever?

If you want a really good clutch, that will last a while even if you have a tendency to abuse it, go with a McLeod. We've got guys that run these clutches in 700+ HP cars and they hold up extremely well. We've put them in a lot of cars and not a single complaint. Oh, by the way, take these guys advice, if you don't trust the mechanics, then do it yourself. Get a shop manual and follow the directions. It's an easy job.

I have a CenterForce DF and love it. Several of the people here have them and swear by them too.

One thing is having a clutch professionally installed is about the biggest waste of money there is behind disc brakes. Find a manual, a friend and a afternoon adn save yourself alot of money.
