Slicks

I know there is alot of guys who race that read this board. I was wondering what sizes of slicks you can fit under the stock fender wells. I have all stock parts in the back. I was wondering on sizes of drag radials and slicks. Plus I have crappy 2.77's in the back, so I would suppose that shorter slicks would be better for that reason, but I hope to have 3.73's or 4.10's someday. Tell me what tire sizes you guys have had luck with. Thanks

It will depend on the rim width and backspace. I have 15 x 10 rims with 5.5" backspace. I've had 26 x 10.5 ET streets, 28 x 9 ET drag and now have 29 x 9 Hooser slicks but can still go to 29 x 10.

It's not just the height of the tire but how wide the section width is.

Once you determine the tire size you want to use, then pick the gear ratio that will work best with that tire size. 4.10 or 4.56 gears and 26" tall tires will just roast the tires and make the engine rev too high to be usefull. 28" or 29" tall tires and 2.77 gears will be a dog off the line but could cruise down the highway at an idle.
