flex plate converter gap

flex plate converter gap

ok after breaking several pump rotots in succession i upgraded my flex to a thicker B/N sfi plate an added a deeper pan an pickup, had the converter checked out and have reinstalled. can any body tell me how much gap i should have between the flex an converter, with the converter all the way back i have a gap of 5mm or .020 of a inch. thanks storman

5mm is about right, .020" would be about a tenth as much as normal.

We shoot for .090-.125" clearence between the flex plate and torque converter for maximum rotor life.

if you have more than 5mm gap can you just use spacer at the bolts ??

yup spaced out to .100 an its pullin the fronts again!!!
