Quick TH350 Question
I'm putting a 350 trans into my car, and the detent cable that it had on it was too long for where my bracket and carb are located. So I was wonding, I got the B&M universal 350 kickdown, and I noticed there's 3 stages in stiffness on the cable. Where do I want WOT to be? When you pull it it's very loose at the begining, then a little tougher for most of the way, then the last 1/4 in is very hard to pull and then it dosn't move at all. Do I want where it stops completely to be WOT, or right before where it gets hard to pull?? Thanks.
You adjust this cable to get a 3-2 or 2-1 kickdown (down shift). If the engine has a lot of bottom end torque, then adjust it so it takes a lot of throttle to get it to kick down (down shift), and it is just the opposite for an engine with very little bottom end torque. After that fine tune it so it feels the way you like it to behave. If you do not have the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit?, I would install one.

I have the transgo shiftkit, and have about 360 HP and 350 TQ. Just wanted to check where to set the cable too, wether WOT is at the full length of the cable, or right before where it gets hard to pull then stops. thx

ok, so fast68, i do want the cable to pull through the tough spot for the last quarter inch or so and then have the throttle and cable stop at the same max point? Just makin sure I have this straight.
