I have a bad feeling my tranny is about to go, opinions wanted...

My tranny shifts fine, but at WOT when I shift by hand it seems to hang up on the 2-3 shift. The shift itself seems to take about a second and a half when spun high. I dont want to overrev my motor or anything. Will the trans-go shift kit fix this, I heard it helps this problem. My tranny has 147,000 miles on it and is behind my mild 350. I plan on a blower in the next few years, and if I get it rebuilt it will be rebuilt with the capability to handle the power. Should I bother with the trans go kit now or am i screwed?

Option # 2: There is a TH350 in the garage in need of a rebuild. My father has rebuilt these before and has one behind his 454. Would it almost be better for me to put this in my bird. I do like overdrive, but I understand that the TH350 is a much cheaper tranny to fix.

If the clutches and band are still in good shape, the the Trans-Go Perfromance Shift kit, Corvette servo, and larger boost valves could solve this, but with that many miles, and it is a 1984 unit, I would pass and have a 1988 & up unit built. Give me a call if I can be of help?
