All AT trans have a pressure governer. This means that if you have the trans selected to 1'st gear, if you take the rpms so high that the trans hits maximum pressure, the governer will overide the manual selection and automatically shift to 2'nd (basically so you don't blow u'r trans to smitherines). At what RPM was it shifting to 2'nd gear at?? With that trans, with that servo it shouldn't go to 2'nd gear till about 7000-8000 RPMs (I would konw, had the same setup). If it shifts way sooner than that, then you probably have the shifter linkage off a lil that when the shifter is in first the trans is actually in 2'nd.
well it will shift maybe at 3,500 or somthing like that, real ow tho. i know it is in frist before it shiftsjust from the sound. but that only happens when 1st is selected. but in drive the car wont shift till it red lines almost. which is normal. it makes the tires chirp but only shifts hard when flored,
but if your driving calmly you would never know anything was done to the trans. is that the was it should be with a corvette servo?
also where is this pressure coltrol at, so i can try it?

Yes, most 700's will override the manual first selection and force a 1-2 shift if the RPMs get too high. If that bothers you, you can install the TransGo reprogramming kit and kiss it goodbye.
