Clutch explosion

Has anyone ever tried adding extra protection, like a thick metal plate under the carpet, on the right side of the feet to help in case of a clutch explosion. i just got the eng. and trans in and i didnt think of getting a blow proof bellhousing. now i dont do many high revving dumps but i was wondering if i can at least get some kind of protection...just in case. i have a centerforce II i think, its got the centrifugal weights and the dual friction plate. how good is that at holding up. of course its probably better than a stock. If nobodies done it, i guess im gonna try to rig something up.......thoughts?

I had a clutch come through the floor on my in my 55 chevy in about 1975. The bell housing was in little pieces, broke the back of the engine, and blew the top off the accell distributor I had. Not to mention parts went through the radio, and one part cut my girlfriends foot. Needless to say I had to find another girlfriend.

Get a scatter shield. It's not that hard to put in.
