my trans. went out a few days ago and i came across a guy who has been rebuilding transmissions for 30 years. my first question is do you think $550 for a rebuilt 700r4 w/new torque conv. and shift kit is a good deal? i do have to give him my old trans. my sec. question is whats a good torque converter for a 91 TBI 305 w/ a few small mods (2000, 2500, 3000)? i want the "out of the whole" punch. can anyone give me a quick list of things i will have to do to get the trans. out and about how long will it take?..also, im thinking of getting the B&M megashifter when i get this rebuilt 700. are they worth the money? i have $1200 to spend...anything else to get while im getting a new transmission? i do plan on fixing up this car.
