I put this kit in my other 1992 Z28 and it came out excellent, the shift from first to second is nice and hard, chirps no problem. I had the kit installed at a local transmission shop for $200. Sounds expensive but kit can be very intimidating if you have no expierence with automatics. I bought the kit, the installation included the filter and new fluid. Took them about 2.5 hours to install.

Transmission: THM 400
Put one in myself, 85K on the tranny.
Will chirp to second at parking lot speeds.
No problems so far.

Cheers

Richard

well is i have found out ITS NOT A GOOD IDEA ...
I installed many B&M kits in other trans (th350 th400)
with no prob but the 700r4 doesnt like it and could destroy the trans , and so it did to mine .
there is a reason the transgo kit is 125.00 the b&m is 50.00

If all you want to do is shif at higher rpms just get the spring kit for the govener , you dont even have to pull the pan and is easy enough for a novice to do

I believe the B&M destroyed my 700R4.

It shifts very very hard and I think the internals of the 700R4 do not like that.

Do yourself a favor and buy yourself the slightly more expensive, TransGo shift kit. It gives more positive shifts as well, but not so hard that it will destroy the trans. The TransGo actually tends to problems that the 700R4 has and corrects some of them whereas the B&M just makes it shift real hard.

People are correct tho, my car shifts to second and sometimes chirp's the tires and sometimes starts a full out burn out!
