TV cable replacement

Do a search for "od kickdown valve" by Fattie92. Scroll to reply by V8 Astro Captain and click on site in his reply. Check out the third frame down and you will see the TV valve and its bracket. At the top you will see the cable coming through the case and
hooked into the bracket. Actually there is a "wire" linkage between the end of the TV cable and the TV bracket. You must unhook the cable from the "wire", remove the cable retaining bolt
from the bottom of the cable where it enters the case ( it is a 6mm bolt with a 10 mm head), and remove the cable from the throttle body and the TV cable bracket
which is near the throttle body. I think it might be easier to remove the tranny pan and the TV bracket to change the cable than to change the cable with the pan on. You might want to tie a string or wire onto the other end of the cable so you can pull the new cable into place.

Yeah, it's not hard at the trans or engine side, but routing it will be a pain. And yep you have to adjust the new one.

wow..someone is using one of my posts as referance lol.. well the TV cable itself is pretty easy to change. the hardest part is routing it and getting it to line up good enough for you to tighten back down.i got some wire and taped it to the end of the TV cable(by the tranny) then pulled it all out slowly. then tied the new cable to the wire, then pulled it back through. make sure you put something in the valve arm thing.... its not fun tryin to fish that thing out with the pan on!!just grab that sucker with some needle nose pliers when you are removing it,, and put a small nail, or wire through it.. the when you go to install the new cable, just pull it up with your fingers, then use the needle nose to grabe it.. take the nail out, then connect the TV cable.... tighten everything, then adjust the cable and go drive!
