stupid new guy t-5 questions

Hey I just got my 84 firebird. She' a beauty but its an automatic. I have basically driven a manual since I first got my license, and have a severe hate for automatics. I know this question has probaly been asked a million times before, but here I go.
The car is an 84 Firebird. It has a carberueted 350 in it now. It was originally a six cylinder. It now has an 700r4 tranny in it from an 8cyl.
About how many hours am I looking at to put a t-5 in its place. And are there any special tools needed to do it besides a clutch alignment tool.

Would you recommend it as a very bad idea for a first time project for somebody, who knows a decent amount about cars, but has never done anything actually big to any of them. And is there anyone in Indiana willing to help, please ? I know these are probaly stupid questions with the answer somewhere already on this website , but I just want an estimate on time, and the general difficulty of it. : :hail:

I am not going to lie to you, it is a pain in the A$$. There should be a cutout in the insulation on the floorboard where the clutch "pushrod" goes through. You should plan on it taking a full day + if you are doing it in your garage without a lift. If you plan on making any large amount of HP, keep in mind this is a weak tranny...believe me, I know
