shimming a posi

How big of deal is it to shim a posi? I already have the SLP take-off posi installed and I like it and all, but the shop did not shim it up tight enough. How hard is it to shim up. The shop charged me $90 to install the posi gears and new bearings, what do you think they will charge to shim it up WAY tight?

What all did you get done for $90? That seems pretty cheap for rearend work.

And I have a question that kinda goes along with his. I have a 9-bolt posi unit that is on its last leg. It only spins one wheel most of the time and it kills me at the strip. Would shimming that help it at all or does anyone think it is just gone?
