Broken Accumulator Spring

Hey, I did a search and found a few messages about how a broken accumulator spring can cause a hard 1/2 shift, but my question is: Can this cause my tranny to not make the 1-2 shift? I have so far tried a bunch of things, and as of so far: The fluid is red, with no metal particles in it, the valve body seems to have all the valves free, there is a TransGo TV valve in it, but after i took off the 1-2 accumulator i found the spring broken. I'm just wondering if this could cause my no shift.

Thanks.

The broken spring by itself will not cause the "no shift", however, there is a remote possibility that the broken spring cause such a hard shift that the band is broken. Not saying that is the case, but I have seen alot of those "neck snappers" that everyone raves over break stock bands.
