My Transmission......GEEZ!
Hi, I have a 1991 Z28 5.7 L98 Camaro I bought back in July.....and the guy I bought if from said he put a new $1500.00 tranny in it. It holds out to about 2500 RPM before it hit's second gear....and when it hits.....it's hits so hard....it barks the tires.....without even giving it much gas at all! It also has a "powder blue" torque converter on it. I'm not a transmission person at all....and I just wanted to know if the way this thing hits is going to mess up anything.....or if it will be ok. If nobody has any ideas or if you just have some suggestions....that would be great. Thanks!

my guess is he put a pretty tough tranny in it with some shift kits parts. if he swapped in a 350 for the engine then i would'nt doubt it. i think it will be fine. but i know jack about trannies so i dont know.
First thing you need to do is put in one of my Trans-Go Performance Shift kits with accumulation. This will make the 1-2 part throttle shift nice and smooth (no bang shift) and the shifts will get progressively firmer with more throttle. What you have now is not desirable at all, and could possibly break something. Let me know if I can be of help?
