will 3rd gen gears fit into a 82grand prix?
alright, sometime in the next month, im swapping out my rear for a 4th gen.
my friend owns an 82 Grand Prix, and he wants to take my gears and put them into his rearend.
I dont know why he wants to do this...he has a 2.41, I have a 2.73, he claims he will definitley feel the difference...I say....nah...its not much of a difference.
if it matters, my car has a one-legger 2.73, its an 89 firebird.

Car: 82 & 91 Firebird
Engine: 400 & 355
Transmission: TH350 & 700
Axle/Gears: 4:11 & 2.72
For the most part g-bodys also used 7.5 rears. So as for your first ? Yes they will work. The LS diff In my bird came out of a 84 Monte. I also agree with you there will be almost no difference going from 2.41 to 2.73. And only a slight difference if he goes to 3.08.
