I am currently rebuilding a 305 in an '86 z28, it was originally carbed and I am planning on putting an aftermarket Carb and Distributor, so the factory computer will be out of the loop as far as the distributor and the carb are concerned. I am wondering will this effect how the transmission operates? Does the 700r4 need the computer or is the input from the TV cable sufficent?

 

i believe there is a certain $100 harness from painless wiring that you will need to retain the lock-up converter thats about it
