t-5 question
t-5 question
Ok guys my car got totaled by a jacka$$ who had no insurance
and I just put a brand new transmission in less that 500 miles ago. The transmission has a good clutch and bell housing, so seeing that I am going to be stuck parting out my car I was wondering how much the t-5 is worth, I have a guy that wants the whole car for $500 but I think that the transmission being brand new is worth at least that, what do you guys think?

it depends on your area like here in CA between $300 to $800 you can sell it on ebay for good money.
part your car out you well make more than $500 but it will take time.
but my opinion to fix up your Camaro and do not waste it :nono:

yeah definitely part the car out rather than sell it for dirt cheap. im sure theres alot of valuable parts on the car. i just picked up a 86 GTA(CLONE) that im parting out and you would be suprised what some people need...steering columns, headliner boards, tailight wiring harnesses, dashpads, kickpanels etc etc
and you can definitly get around 500$$ for that tranny...junkyards sell used up ones for that much, at least in central jersey

no one will buy one of those things even close to new for more than 100-200 bucks around here.
even at that they are really hard to sell

If you can document the rebuild with receipts, you can probably get $250 and up on Ebay. I put $335 worth of parts in mine to rebuild it, and there are people out there without the skills to repair a trans. So if you are patient you might get more than you think out of the trans.
