SGI-5 problems

I've been messing with this thing forever. No matter how I hook it up it won't work!!! I can't even get the needle to budge. Here's how I have it hooked up now:

Wire A from VSS to Sig. In terminal, twisted w/ B
Wire B from VSS to Gnd terminal, twisted w/ A
Second ground wire from Gnd terminal to purple speedo wire under car
Output wire from Out #3 terminal to yellow speedo wire under car
Power wire from radio fuse to Pwr terminal

I have hooked up everything without the box and the needle goes to 120 very quickly, so my VSS and speedo should be good. I have the first 3 switches off and the last 7 on. I did a search and read every other post on this problem, none have helped me out. If anyone has any ideas they'd be very much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!

Ttry using output #4. I know I had to call DakotaDigital at one point in time cause it seeme like the outputs didnt corespond witht he intruction manual.....and I am assuming that by you saying the yellow wire going under car is the one wire that is going to the speedometer?....

If so try this first.....

Switch # 1: ON
Switch # 2: OFF
Switch # 3: ON then see what ahppens with the rest of them off...

Try wire B from VSS to a chassis ground, and SGI-5 GND terminal to a chassis ground (same one in my case).

Well, mine is an 87 and a MAF harnessed car so it is a little bit different. It had me chasing my tail for a while but I got it working now. I have the signal Out #3 of the DD box going to the black signal wire and the other wire from the car's harness just hanging (not connected to anything). I have since swapped to a 730 ECM but have the ECM pinned as if it were an MAF system. So I don't know exactly which wire you should use, but I am thinking it would be the yellow one for your input off the DD box. The other wire (purple) should be able to just be left hanging.

The rest of mine is set up just like you have yours with the VSS going to the ground terminal of the DD box and then the box grounded to the chassis. I have my power coming off the accessory circuit but that shouldn't really matter.

It finally works!!! I called dakota digital and they told me to bypass the factory speed buffer. I don't know why it worked but it does. In case anyone else needs the info it's:

pink/black wire to pwr terminal
black/white wire to 2nd ground (out of gnd terminal)
green/black wire to output #3 terminal
2 speed sensor wires to gnd and sig. in terminals
