200c questions
ok i got a lg4 in my car...no longer computer controlled....i have a 200c tranny....now my first problem.....my shifter wont go down past drive....so i can only shift through PRND....no 2 or 1....it just wont move down that car...linkage problem maybe...how would i go about fixing it?
Now my second problem is that my speedo neddles spins round reallyu fast...faster as you go faster....like a helicopter,....ok i took out the piece with the round thingy that has 2 wires comming outta it and it has a metal tube maybe 7 inches long too...is that the speedo gear thing?....now which part would be the best to get from like NAPA or somewhere...i have the lg4 and 200c with a open 3.42 v6 rear....what one would be the most accurate...hopefully somebody can help a learning teen out...thanks..

Probably. Actually, it's a cable problem, all you have to do is replace the shifter cable. Probably nothing wrong with either the trans or the shifter.
I can't tell what you're talking about in the other question. Most likely, if your speedo reads extremely high, it's the parts inside the speedo itself. There's a piece that's magnetic that's hooked to the cable, the cable spins it, it's next to another steel piece that the magnet sort of pulls around in proportion to how fast it's moving. If the magnet and the other piece touch, the speedo will read WWWAAAAAAYYYYYY high, and it will make a funky grinding noise, and the pointer will vibrate in all sorts of directions.

Every speedometer cable problem Ive had ended up being the cruise control unit. The cruise controll has both the speedometer cables going into it and spins another set of gears before it goes up into the dash. Thats were Id start looking biggest POS GM ever made.
