What do you think of this.

This is the best that I can do. Everyone think that I should reinstall and drive it or take it somewhere to be done? My backlash is 9 and the marking was done with medium pressure with a big screwdriver. Sorry to bother every one but I am trying to learn this. Let me know what you think.

Anyone please.

Anyone before I reinstall it. By the looks of it seems to need to add a little to the pinion by the coast side, but it has .039 now and with the .041 it has a downward slant on the drive side which means to remove some pinion but then the coast side looks good. What do you think?

The drive side looks fairly good. The Coast could be better, but since all the hard acceleration will be on the DRIVE side, I'd be more worried about the drive side pattern. You may get a whine when you let off the gas. As far as your backlash, .009 is a bit loose. Its the MAX allowable, which will give you ZERO room for wear before becoming out of spec. If thats as good as it gets, then thats as good as it gets. Like I mentioned in one of your previous posts, GM had a problem of the pinion bearing bores not being drilled on center. This causes wierd gear readings. If that is your case, then your pattern is as good as it will get. I'd be curious as to what the pattern looked like on the original gears.

Thank you.

Much thanks for the help. If it whines that will give me the opportunity needed to order the ford 9 inch already set up from moser.

The drive side looks good and that's the important side so I'd leave it. I'd try and get some of that backlash outta there though. Oh yeah, don't buy a Moser, get a Strange 12 bolt!

Why not 9 inch.

Would you get a 12 bolt vs a 9 inch. I liked the 9 inch so that I could change easily if I had to without taking out the entire rear. Is strange better than moser?
