Will I blow my rear end

Just a simple question, I recently put in a 1996 LT1 from an Impala SS rated at 260hp. I have taken off all emission equipment and added an aftermarket exhaust and intake. I excpect to be in the area of 300hp. I have my stock rear end that came in the 1984 camaro, it has no posi. I will be modding the motor out all the time so what would be some suggestions on a new rear end keep in mind that money is an issue
Thanks

maybe try and find a 9 bolt posi disk rear end... from like around 1989 with good gears..

with 300 hp and no posi you wont really be able to hook up off the line...

I don't mean to be an ***, but if all you have is exhaust and intake, you don't have 300 hp. Regardless, it would be a good idea to get a posi unit. You can get yourself a 9 bolt like MDFormula350 said, but parts for those rears aren't very abundant and are expensive from what I've heard. They are supposedly stronger than the 10 bolts though. You can buy a 10 bolt rear with posi and 3.23 or 3.42s for less than $200 in junkyards.

newer firebirds have lt1's and 10 bolt rears so just get aposi unit from slp and the gears of your choice and don;t run slicks and u will be fine

You will not be blowing up that rear with your set up, not unless you do something REALLY STUPID.

Just dont use slicks and dont use a trans-brake. any 10-bolt can handle 700 HP as long as you dont hook. power moving through the rear and turning into tire smoke is power the rear end isnt absorbing, unlike hooking up off the line with a T-brake and slicks.
