Can a 5 speed tranny be rebuilt?
I may need to be servicing my 5 speed tranny sometime soon.
How hard is it to rebuild a manual transmission. I have a feeling my syncronizer is going out. would I be wasting time and money on this or should I save up for a new tranny?
I have trouble going from 1st to 2nd... and going down from 2nd to 1st.

This has been discussed many times here. Do a search on "T5".
But the short answer is, yes it can be rebuilt. Pull it apart first and see what you need for parts, then make your decision as to rebuild it or replace it. Replacing gears can get expensive in a hurry. And, get the video from hanlon motorsports on rebuilding the T5 for $20. It shows you what to look for in worn/broken parts.
