700-r4 help?

any where i can go to talk to someone or learn what it would take to build a 700-r4 that can hold the power of an 11 second car?

the shop who built my original trans says he doesn't trust himself past 400. he was relatively cheap and did a great job; i would like to have him do it again...but he won't.

i don't want to have to pay some outrageous amount to do this. any suggestions?

He is being pretty straight with you. A 700 would not be my first choice. You might be better off rebuilding a 350 or 400 for that application. There is no real way to handle a lot of HP without spending some bucks. My friend guarantees up to 500hp with the 700's he does but it runs about $1800 for the complete overhaul.

yeah that's way to much.....

i don't want a 3 speed auto as it will just be killer for anything other than track use.

if that's the case i'm going 6 speed and i'll just have to deal with a manual. i'm sure i'll get use to it.

i can't believe the 700-r4 can't be made to handle this sort of power on a street driven car. i mean i don't expect it to hold at the track, but for all intensive normal driving i would think it could.

o'well, thanks for the point of view.
