TH-700R4 Question

Ok guys , heres one for ya . When my car changes gears , it acts like it slips out of the gear that it is in and then goes to the next gear. It does it in all 4 gears , but once its in gear , its in gear and you can put the pedal to the metal . Someone told me it could be the convertor and im thinkin it probably needs to be rebuilt . When i changed the fluid after i purchased it , the fluid was noticably neglected , dark red , light brown looking . no metal particles or chunks in the pan , only friction material from the clutches is all I could see . I re-adjusted the TV cable but it didnt stop this from happening . Does it sound wore out to you guys ?? Any suggestions as to what could cause this to happen and prevent me from spending a small fortune would be most appreciated .

that is called rpm flare, it is caused fromseals leaking inside the trans, you most likely need a basic overhaul, but try doing a fliud/filter change and use something like transmedic or similar first(only going to cost total $20-30)
