T.V. cable
I know this may sound stupid, perhaps I'm brainfarting here, but what is the proper procedure for adjusting the TV cable? I've done this before on a 3rd gen car and a Chevy Truck, but for some reason, this one isnt acting quite right. Seems I cant get it just right... I dont think I have any other tranny problems, but you never know. I need to make SURE I have this cable right before I start tearing apart and modding a perfectly good tranny.

I am assuming that you have tried the procedure listed in the tech articles. If not here it is: https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/detent.shtml
What is the problem that makes you want to adjust the cable? FYI, I have used the procedure in the tech articles but my transmission always shifted too late. But see it that procedure works for you.

Yep, see that is what I thought, but for some reason, I was second guessing myself. Yeah, I did look at the tech article, and did just what it said, which is what I did in the first place, but I'm like you, it shifts too late. It seems to shift too soft alot of times, and it was acting like the TV cable was set wrong. I think my next step will be to try synthetic tranny fluid and go from there. thanks for the input.

I just installed the Corvette Servo kit into my 700R4 and my late shifting seems to have gone away.

I installed mine myself. The only problems that I ran into was trying to get the cover on and off. That was quite a PITA. You will also have to pull the crossmember off and lower the transmission a few inches to be able to get everything out. I would not pay anymore than $30 to have it installed and I don't think you would be able to find someone to do it for only $30. So my advice is to get a crowbar and install it yourself.
