GO FOR IT!!!!!
I started on mine on Saturday.. I work a little on it each night. I'm just about done!!
Get the Technical Video for it, it's NOT that hard, and special tools are either made at home easily OR you can use other methods. The only "special tool" you really need is your brain!
DON'T let this thing scare you, it's just time consuming (which is why transmission mechanics get so much for rebuilding one!) If you have any mechanical ability, you can do it yourself; it's just not that hard.
