I need a transmission expert

I've got 86 IROC with bad 700r4 transmission. Question: is there any difference in transmissions between an IROC and other Camaro 700r4s. An "expert" told me there was and I'd like to verify.

i am no tranny expert at all!
however i know that the later years of the 700r4 was alittle more improved than the 87 down 700r4's.. i dont think it really did matter what model it came from..

You'll find that the only real difference is the calibration of the valvebody/spacer plate and the weights and springs in the governer. The internals themselves are the same.
