ok I have two 700r4's that are bad which should I rebuild
the first came out of '85camaro iroc the second out of a k-10 blazer
the camero tranny was starting to slip and couldn't decide wether
or not to be in overdrive at freeway speeds also the entire things
filled with metal flakes

the other has tranny fluid that looks like engine oil but other than being burned shows no sign of metal flakes but the cluches are totally shot and it wont shift out of first

I need to rebuild one and I have to do it for less than a few hundred bucks. Most important I have never dreamed of doing a tranny and am a little scared at the undertaking. this is the car That takes me to work so I am working on borrowed time.

any suggestions hints or tips are greatly appriciated

I'd pass on both of them and get an '88-'92 core from an IROC
to rebuild. If you don't have a lot of experience rebuilding 700-r4's, you'd be better off buying one from a reputable salvage yard.

 

thanx I just might buy a reman'ed one anyway on account of
everything
