shifts from first to second in first??

shifts from first to second in first??
allright my car runs great shifts smooth and everything only problem is when i want to manually shift my automatic from first to second i can't. well i can but my first gear shifts into second as well. what can cause this??? i did a search but found nothing thanks

75% if not more of the 700R-4s will do that. Its designed that way. If you want to be able to hold first gear as long as you want, you need to install a TransGo Reprogramming kit.
