Why do I shift out of first at 15mph?
Help. I just got a 89 firebird formula 350 with 65,000 miles on it and it shifts out of first way too fast. I can barely reach 15 mph when its floored. I dont know about u guys but my old third gen got well over 30 in first. It doesnt throw u back against the seat like it should. It gets into second and boges down. Help any suggestions.

2 things:
1. your tv cable needs adjustment or the tranny is rebuilt, some shops make it o you cant hold first gear too long decreasing the chance of blowing it up.
