Dropping rear-end

Would you drop the rear-end to install new gears, posi unit, bearing ??? Will it be easier ?

I've done it both ways, I think it's easier to pull the rear first and not have to lay up under the car to work on it. If you have a rack it doesn't make as much difference, probably faster to leave it in the car.
