Could you tell by looking????????

Im going to try to go hunt down an aluminum driveshaft from the pick a part yards.Is there a way I can tell if its aluminum or steel?

well beside the differance in apperance one's magnetic and one's not, one is heavier than the other.

trust me, you'll know if its aluminum when you see it. the steel ones are rusted, I have had my 1LE shaft in my car for 4 years now and it still looks faily new. If you do find one, then look for more in the yard. There highly wanted parts around here.

like ede sed take a magnet with you and the steel ones will atract the magnet. the aluminum ones have no magetivity to them.
