Help req'd with p/n for rearend cover

I have a 1988 Formula 350(ws6) with the 3:27 gearing. Want to get a new cover to detail but need to know which ring gear I have--7.75 or 7.6 in order to order. Also; to order a corvette servo in total kit form thru GM dealership; would there be a p/n known as the dealership I frequent is having problems finding the above 2 requests. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have the 7.75" rear. Count the bolts on the cover; if there's 9 it's a {drum roll please} 9-bolt which is the 7.75", if there's 10 it's the 7½" 10-bolt.

Thanks; that is what I was afraid of. Gm has discontinued the 7.75 covers so you may as well give the drum roll for TAPs.

The following link has an article on how to install the vette servo, the part numbers are listed at the bottom of the article.

If that cover isn't beat all to hell, just sandblast it and repaint it. I have a pic of mine in this forum somewhere but search is down so I can't pull it up.
