how bad is it to DYI? i wana cut down as much as i can... if i can put a new diff and gears in bymyself, ill be happy... or should i just leave it for someone to do it for me?

The hardest thing to do is to get the new gear pattern right. the front pinion is really hard to get out and back in just to add or take out a shim. I got really lucky tho and got it on the first try. The diff itself is pretty straighforward to install. I had never worked on a diff before so if I can do it, so can you Just make sure you get the gear pattern right and the lash. I have about 10000 miles on my diff now and still works excellent. Its my tranny I'm worried about
