What would you use??

Ok, some incompetent girl just totaled my 83 TA while it was parked, she wasn't paying attention and hit it doin about 60 mph. So i'm going to be getting an 86 TA now. My question is which would you use, and newly rebuild NWC T5 with only 200 Mi on it, which grinds some times going into second, or a WC (they switched to WC in 86 right?) with about 100k but runs strong?? Also, I have a 3.23 locking posi rear, and i'm sure this is a 3.23 rear as well, but I don't know if it's locking or limited slip, if you have both which would you use?? Thanks for your input.

If you're swapping in a different tranny anyway, step up and go for the T56. Yes, it's more expensive, but her ins. is paying for most of it anyway...
Extra gear, and stronger too.

My $0.02, it's what I'd do in the same position.

P.S. Sorry to hear about your car I have an '83 also!

Well, if I had the money I would get a T56, but I don't. My whole point is that I have both of these trans', one I will use, the other will sit if anything happens to the other one. So which would u use if you had both of those trans? And the rear's too?

Find out if both of the rear's are 3.23's. If one is 3.42 then its a no brainer.

You said that the rebuilt T-5 grinds going into second? Is the clutch bad? If not, then that's an early sign of the sychros wearing out. I'd go w/ the WCT-5. It put up w/ the TQ I was puttin down (551rwtq) w/ over 100k miles on it.
