Possible to fix a cracked differential housing?

I was hit in the rear and it ended up cracking the differential case right in front of the axle tube. I was wondering if this was fixable or if I should just part the rear out. Its a posi PBR disc rear with 3.23's and 28 spline axles.

Housings are a dime a dozen. Don't waste your time. PBR calipers, 3.23s and 28 spline alxes are in high demand. You could probably get almost as much "parted out" as you would the whole thing.

Yeah, those parts are worth alot.... on the other hand, if you have a car to put it in, you might want to keep it....

It is repairable.

fixing the crack wouldn't be hard, grind it out and reweld it. the hard part would be making sure everything was straight and square. i'd be looking for a new case to put my old parts in or just use the parts in the new rear.
