advice please?

Hi,
I could use some advice please,
I have a 700-r4 that is all rebuilt with great parts and a transgo shift kit and all the bell and whistles BUT i have a small problem
WERE should the ttc clutch lock (speed) I have some custom burnt proms and can't decide were to lock the converter, when the ttc clutch locks it bogs the car (early or late) I want a good ttc lock speed and dont' want to hurt the trans converter in the process (earlier = hard on clutch components in converter_ later= hard on trans b/c it = more heat oh th eng is a 5.7 and the stall is 2100 opinions please? thanks (ps the converter was built in house and is not a "name " brand though it is of good quality.

It depends a lot on what rear gearing you have. The TCC lockup logic evaluates VSS input.

Back when I had 3.42 gears and a Vigilante 2800rpm stall TC, I liked 50mph for lockup and 35mph for unlock. Lower than 50mph lock and it would bog the engine.

If you have the ability to burn your own PROMs, then you just need to experiment. I leave mine at the stock setting of around 40MPH. My personal feelings is that I wouldn't go past 45-46 MPH.
